Maura Kennedy steps away from her partner Pete temporarily and produces a stunning solo debut that will put a lift in your step and a smile on your face.

With Parades of Echoes, Maura delivers on the power chords and the hooks she is known for, but she doesn’t shrink from the heavy stuff. The ‘echoes’ here are the representation of her experiences on her road of life. She and Pete tour constantly, often 150 shows or more each year, and it’s those encounters along the way that she brings to this record. She opens the proceedings with the spooky, minimalist Goth track “The Things with Feathers” and, once she’s scared the casual listeners away, breaks into the wonderfully poppy, sunny “New Way to Live” which shimmers and reminds us of happier times. As a nod to her ‘other’ self, “Make It Last” bring forth that happy, jangly guitar sound that The Kennedys are known for.

Maura Kennedy’s style is equal parts the 50′s noir of Patsy Cline, mixed with Don and Phil Everly and a dash of Beatles, Byrds, and Buddy Holly. It’s an intoxicating combination; and one that will have you hearing this Parade of Echoes over and over again.
