Oh! What a night…

Oh! What a night…

Oh! What a night indeed! This great shot from Steve Weitzman really shows what a special place the Main Point was…

It was a cold night in January 1974 with Trevor Veitch & Andy Kulberg opening for Steve Goodman. After Goodman’s set, he came back for his encore with a surprize guest – John Prine! After they performed about a twenty minute medley of Hank Williams tunes, they headed off the stage. Here’s where the famous ‘Main Point Stomp’ came in with the patrons banging on the floorboards & shaking the dust loose in the dressing rooms below… Steve & John came out again for another encore set – This time with openers Trevor & Andy along with Bonnie Raitt! The gang played some more Hank Williams tunes and wrapped it all up with a version of “Will the Circle Be Unbroken”. Just another amazing, spontaneous, you-had-to-be-there night at the Main Point!
