Wanna own a piece of the past?
The Main Point store offers you an opportunity to remember those times and remind your friends and family about what a unique place The Main Point was!
Your purchases here will help to support and maintain this website as we move forward… Thanks (in advance) for your show of support!
Additionally, we’ve partnered up with Amazon to provide you with an easy place to buy new or used copies of the CDs you see reviewed on our website – Some by Main Point stalwarts; some by newer artists that were sure would have played at the Main Point if the venue was still open – It’s your one-stop ‘place to shop’ for all things Main Point-ish!

Hi! Imagine my surprise upon discovering this site! I’m so grateful you created it. I attended many a concert at my beloved Main Point. In fact, I have a 10-year anniversary booklet with a decade-worth of acts booked to play there and some great photos. I have one or two of the old menus concertgoers would find on the tables upon entering, and lots and lots of terrific memories. I remembering one night catching a Jackson Browne late show w/several friends and calling out to Jackson, who I believe was on his way to Mrs. Campbell’s after the set. It was about 1:30-2:00 am and we called him over (we were sitting on a car in a used car lot on the corner). He came and joined us and I gave him my last cigarette. We all chatted for about 10 minutes or so. It was very cool. Those were the days – incredibly talented musicians, amazing music, and the tickets were dirt cheap. The complete opposite of today. Bring back the good old days.
The tribute to Mrs. Campbell (to the right) was really sweet. It mentions a documentary on The Main Point. Can anyone tell me more about this please? Was it ever completed? Can I purchase a copy on DVD? Who can I contact to support this terrific idea?
Thanks so much!
What a great web site! Although I left Bryn Mawr in the early 80′s, I’ll always fondly remember the Main Point. Saw a lot of great shows there. Eric Andersen, Billy Cobham(!), Cheech & Chong, David Sancious, Livingston Taylor, The Shirts, too many others to recall.
Speaking of shirts, are you guys gonna make a MP triangle logo shirt available? I’ll take a 3x please!
Kind regards, Bill
Tee-shirts available now! Lemme know what you think… Thanks for your interest! sean@mainpointmusic.com
I would be very interested to know if there was any video of Jimmy Webb performing
Hi, this is Victoria Davis (vjdseven@gmail) writing from the NorthCoast (Eureka) of California – dedicated attendee late ’60′s to 70′s when the call of the west became a reality. (Moving 3 times ever north for some reason – LA County, Butte County (100 mi. from Sacramento) and now my personal heaven on earth, Humboldt).
Regarding your store, um, IS there one? The shelves are pretty empty, oh wait, I don’t see any shelves either. It would be an honor to be your first customer should this be the case – I did sign for email updates, so hope to hear a status reply?
Those years (and how many times have you heard THAT rehashed) had to be part best of the best in my life and feel really blessed to have found this site, along with a few (very, for the unquenchable) others…
thank you so much for your impeccable past, present and future,
Victoria (vjdseven@gmail)
I grew up not far from the Main Point, and live even closer to where it was now. I took most of my high school first dates there; that way, if the date was bad, I was still guaranteed a great night of music and fun!
For those living farther away these days, recently a local, prominent, band promoter (Richard Kardon) got a lease on the corner property next to the old site – and brought in some good/similar acts; but he, unfortunately, lost his lease – and is now doing (very good) shows apparently through the Phoenixville Theater and some other area venues.
But, for sure, nothing can replicate the Main Point – a distinctive place and time – a real treasure.
Thanks very much for this site!
